I’ve always been an avid reader and many years ago, my mother gave me a bookmark with this quote on it. It has been a driving force in my life and what I strive to teach my daughters every day.
Growing up in The Bronx and being raised by two hard working parents, it wasn’t easy to believe that dreams come true. I wanted to do so many things with my life but the law always seemed to rise to the top of that list. I hoped to attend college in Boston but my father suddenly succumbed to cancer just weeks before I graduated high school. So I instead stayed home, attended college locally at St. John’s University and commuted back and forth, while holding down part-time jobs. After my second year of college, I began working full-time in New York City, took the subway back to The Bronx after work, then drove to school at night to take classes. It took me a long time, but I was so happy to graduate in 1992.
By that time, the dream of law school had long faded and I took a few different career paths. I met and married my husband and then became Mom to my beautiful daughters. When I was ready to return to work, my husband, David encouraged me to follow my heart and work in the law. I ultimately ended up becoming a legal assistant and then earned a Paralegal Certificate from Boston University. I had the pleasure of working for a few really wonderful firms and attorneys.
We relocated to Connecticut in 2018 and couldn’t seem to find my place as a Paralegal. It was the best thing for my daughters, Jessica and Mackenzie, but I was about to give up on my career. Then Rosa Holler called and invited me to come in and interview at Holler Law Firm. One of the greatest days of my life, honestly. Becoming the Client Services Manager at this truly amazing firm has been nothing short of a dream come true! It’s what I was meant to be and every day working with this incredible team is an honor and privilege.
